HP ePrint

Pre-requisites

  • If you connect your printer with a USB cable, HP ePrint does not work.
  • Ensure that your HP Printer is web-enabled and supports HP ePrint. Look for an HP ePrint logo, buttonor icon on the printer control panel.
  • Ensure your computer is connected to a wired (Ethernet) or wireless network with an active Internet connection.
  • Ensure your printer is connected to the internet.
    • If your printer is connected with a wired (Ethernet) connection, check the cable and the lights on the printer’s Ethernet port. The green link light should glow, and the orange activity light should blink.
    • If your printer is connected with a wireless connection, make sure the wireless feature is on, and the printer is connected.
    • Some printers have a wireless icon and a blue light on the front of the printer. Make sure the light is on and not blinking.

Overview

HP ePrint is a secure cloud-based service that lets you print from anywhere with an active Internet connection. All you need to do is to email the document or photo you want to print directly to the printer.

Find your Printer’s email address

It can be found on the information sheet, the printer control panelor the Embedded Web Server (EWS). Web Services must be turned on to obtain and view the email address. The printer’s email address is used for sending the print jobs only.

Printing with HP ePrint

Default Print Settings:

HP ePrint default print settings cannot be changed from the printer control panel or HP connected. Following are the default print settings for HP ePrint:

  • Print quality: Normal
  • Print color: Full color
  • Paper size for emails: Letter or A4
  • Paper size for image attachments: 101.6 x 152.4 mm (4 x 6 in)
  • Number of copies: 1
  • Paper orientation: Identical to the original document
  • Duplex printing: Not supported

Before you print:

  • Type the printer’s email address in the To: field.
    • If there are additional email addresses in the same field as the printer’s email address, the HP ePrint server cancels the print job. For additional recipients, type the email address in the Cc: field.
  • Type a subject in the subject line. A blank email subject line might cause the HP ePrint server to cancel the print job.
    • Email subject lines do not print.
  • The total size of the email must be 10 MB or less, including attachments.
  • Nomore than 10 attachments per email print job.
  • You cannot print email attachments without printing the email also.
    • Time stamps from the HP ePrint server do not accurately reflect when the print job was created or printed.

Supported Options:

  • Document File types: text (.txt), PDF, HTML, Microsoft Word (.doc and .docx), Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt and .pptx) and Microsoft Excel (.xls and .xlsx)
  • Photo file types: .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .png, and .tiff
  • Photos must have a horizontal and vertical resolution of 100 pixels or higher.
  • Digitally signed, encryptedor password protected documents are not supported by HP ePrint.
  • OpenOffice files are not supported by HP ePrint.

Printing from laptop or computer

To print from your computer or laptop with HP ePrint, send an email with your printer’s email address to your web-enabled printer.

Print a document or photo saved on your computer

  • Use your email client or sign in to your email account, and then create a new email.
  • Type your printer’s email address in the To: field.
  • Type a subject in the email Subject line.
  • Attach the document or photo that you want to print and then send the email.

Print an email message

  • Open the email you want to print, and then select.
  • Type your printer’s email address
  • Type a subject in the email subject line, and then send the email.

Print a web page

To print a webpage from your computer or laptop, open the webpage you want to print, save it as a document, and then email it as an attachment.

Printing from smartphone

Print from your Android smartphone or tablet, or iPad, iPhoneor iPod touch with HP ePrint by sending an email with your printer’s email address to your web-enabled printer.

Print a document or photo saved on your mobile device

  • Open the app that has the document or photo that you want to print.
  • Tap the Action or Share icon, depending on your mobile device.
  • Open the email app you want to print from, and then enter your printer’s email address in the To: field.
  • Type a subject in the email subject line.
  • Tap Send.

Print an email message

  • Open the email you want to print, and then select “Forward”.
  • Type your printer’s email address in the To: field.
  • Type a subject in the email subject line.
  • Tap Send.

Print a web page

To print a webpage from your smartphone or tablet, open the webpage you want to print, save it as a documentand then email it as an attachment. .
